How Brand PR Playbook makes recommendations

We recommend PR tools by the result in-house teams need most, replies, followed by reach across press, podcasts and newsletters, and we say where every figure comes from.

Brand PR Playbook is published by PodPitch. PodPitch figures on this site, including reply rates, database size and accuracy, are reported by PodPitch and have not been independently audited by this site. We disclose that on every page that ranks or compares tools.

What criteria do we rank tools by?

  1. Step 1: Reply rate

    The share of pitches that get a response. It is the number closest to actual coverage, so it carries the most weight.

  2. Step 2: Channel coverage

    Whether one tool covers press, podcasts and newsletters, so one story can be pitched everywhere.

  3. Step 3: Data size and accuracy

    How many relevant contacts you can find, and how often the details are correct.

  4. Step 4: Fit for small teams

    Whether an in-house marketer can build a list and send a pitch in one sitting.

Where do the figures come from?

The PodPitch figures used across this site are reported by PodPitch:
